There's been a lot of frustrating time and energy spent trying
to find the ground spawns for dye components. In a lovely sign of
tradesfolk cooperation and unity, various members of the EQ Traders
Corner community have banded together to share information on ground
drops ... even when it means that they'll then have more informed
"competion" on their server for these very same drops. My hat goes
off to them all - this sharing of information is what this community
is about. :) So far, we've been able to narrow down the spawn
time for the oxides and fungi to 21-22 hours. Evergreen leaves
have reports of varying spawn times, from one report of "almost
instant" to other reports of up to 20 hours. (The most reliable
source says he camped a spawn point for a couple days solid, and
the spawn time is 12 hours. Ugh, that's a long time to stare at
a patch of ground!) Note that loc #s for the evergreen leaves may
have a point or two variation off what is listed, but this should
get you into the right areas.
Note that this is ONLY the ground spawn information, the information
on mob drops is on the Dye Recipes page
Evergreen Leaves in Greater Faydark:
- Visual cue: these look like lighter green slanted squares
(parallelograms) on the ground. Since the ground is green, these
can be easy to miss if you're not scouring carefully. (See pictures
below)
- Locations: (63, 166); (596, 200); (638, -96); (-411,
-57); (962, 814); (-191, 7); (90, -400); (30, -2); (403, -440);
(555, -234); (669, 774); (717, 748); (197, -483); (427, -321);
(153, -390); (154, -72); (507, -631); (1333, 2313); (198, -648);
(-469, -2244)
Jack-o'lantern Fungus and Sarcoscypha fungus in Lesser Faydark:
- Visual cue: these look like small red mushrooms on the
ground
- Locations: on the ground in the faerie camp, generally
around the bigger mushrooms.
Permafrost Crystals in Permafrost
- Visual cue: these look like red lumps on the ground.
(See pictures below)
- Locations: On the ground in the dire wolf pens in Permafrost,
as well as on the ground in various spots of the "Goblin Castle"
(left of the "Flag Room", if that helps any. :D).
Oxides (Iron and Russet) in Steamfont:
- Visual cue: these look like red lumps on the ground.
(See pictures below)
- Locations: On and around the huge gears on the ground
near the minotaur caves. (Gotta love lots of metal rusting in
the ground for dye components, eh? :D) Note that there are now
moss-covered drake scales that spawn in the same areas and look
the same.
1. Oxide spawn on ground, inset enlarged to show detail.
This is also the same color as the Permafrost crystal ground spawn
as well
2. Evergreen leaf spawn, inset enlarged to show detail.
