This is a list of various different dropped skins, silks, pelts, hides, flesh, items that sort of sound like they could be used for tailoring or already have tailoring uses, and where they are found and what they are for that I know of. It is kind of a list to check if you find a pelt you aren't familiar with and want to know if you can combine it in your sewing kit, or turn it in for faction, or experiment with it a little. A couple disclaimers: this isn't a complete tell all list, I didn't spend 3 months checking every EverQuest link and hundreds of hours killing every monster to see if they drop pelts. Its fairly large though, and somewhat organized by type, with info on if its from an expansion, a general idea of what zone(s) (if I know) it drops in. If its only off one type of mob, I might mention that if the mob's name isn't on the pelt (i.e., LQ, MQ, and HQ lion skins would get mentioned that they come off highland lions, Scrounge's pelt would just say named coyote since its name is Scrounge) Not all quests are listed, not all recipes are listed. For more recipe info and trivials check the tailoring pages. Not all info is verified by me, I might misspell a few words and put hide instead of skin or pelt in place of hide or whatever. Anyway hopefully this will help some of the tailoring community on some of the more unique pelts and less seen items.

Some abbreviations-

K = found in the Ruins of Kunark expansion
V = found in the Scars of Velious expansion
OE = Old EverQuest (Odus, Antonica, and Faydwer)
TOSRo = temple of solusek ro
QH = Qeynos hills
QA = Qeynos aquaducts/sewers
ICO = Iceclad Ocean
LQ/MQ/HQ = Low/medium/high quality
Sm = small
Med = Medium
Lg = Large
St = Stackable
ND = No drop
PV = can be used to make a poison vial
LP = can be used to make leather padding

SILKS

spiderling silk - makes silk thread (which in turn makes silk bandages, silk cords, and leather padding) also, for research training runes. drops off various level 2-6 ish spiderlings in OE
Spider silk - makes silk swatches (for Wu's fighting armor, raw silk, cured silk, necro TOSRo quest silks including inky silk, lg shadow silk and shadow silk) can be found off level 9-40 ish spiders in DL, FV, Kaesora, Nurga/Droga (not confirmed), EK, WK, QA, Najena, NK, Upper Guk, Lower Guk, EC, WC, N Ro, S Ro, Oasis, Misty Thicket, lots of places
Drachnid silk (ND) K, foraged in DL and FV, for iksar quest
Drachnid silk (tradeable) K, foraged in DL and FV, no known use
Crystalline silk - V, St, makes crystalline silk swatches for crystalline silk armor, can be found in Thurgadin mines, Velketors lab, Crystal Caverns, maybe off the invis spiders in Skyshrine havent seen one yet off them though
Crystalline silk threads - V, off crystalline hunters/devourers/watchers in Velketors lab, for 5th Coldain prayer shawl quest- makes silk fiber (ND) which make glowing silk things which make shawl
Crystalline silk net- off spiders in CC, 2 charges of ensnaring roots, no other known uses
Cryosilk swatches- drop in Plane of Fear, no known uses
Strathbone healer silk (ND)- K, Kaesora, for druid's charm plant spell quest, has a charge of lt healing on it I think, no other known uses
Ice burrower silk- for making ice silk swatches for ice silk armor, drops off level 60-62 mobs in Western Wastes

WOLF PELTS

Ruined wolf pelts- for Sm. patchwork armor, tailored bag, (ruined-HQ wolf pelts drop off all sorts of wolves in OE)
LQ wolf pelt- LP, PV, QH quest, Tailored bag
MQ wolf pelt- PV, QH quest, tailored whip, sm. studded
HQ wolf pelt- PV, QH quest, sm. reinforced, QA quest
White wolf pelt- PV, drops in Everfrost off winter wolves
Mist wolf pelt- off mist wolf types in Karanas, PV
Shadow wolf pelt- EC, nek forest, for making the 3 different shadow silks for the necro TOSRo quests
Black wolf pelt- Greater Fay, Commons, Misty Thicket, PV, for Felwithe quest, Rivervale cleric quest
Superb wolf pelt- Off named wolf (Ashenpaw) in NK no known uses
Giant dire wolf pelt- Permafrost bear caves, no known uses
Diseased wolf pelt (ND) drops off rabid wolves in QH for Qeynos cleric quest
Dire wolf pelt (or black dire wolf pelt) ND, for shaman epic quest sow booties, drops off level 45ish Black dire wolf in Mistmoore
Tuft of dire wolf fur- V, St, foraged in many velious zones, halfling cultural bags
Ruined dire wolf pelt- V, no known uses, (dire wolves are found in a few velious zones, including ICO, EW, GD and Kael drakkal)
LQ dire wolf pelt- V, ICO gnoll quest
MQ dire wolf pelt- V, ICO gnoll quest, fishing lure
HQ dire wolf pelt- V, ICO chain quest
Werewolf skin- ND, for everfrost quest, may drop off werewolves in kithicor, MM, WK and NK
Velium hound fur- V, Western wastes, makes Velium hound fur cap/cloak/boots
Scrounge's pelt- off named coyote in S Ro, no known use
Curscale skin- K, for Cabilis quest
Scaled wolf skin- K, for Cabilis quest

Ruined cat pelts- Med. patchwork armor (ruined- HQ cat pelts are found on various pumas, lions, and tiger types in OE and kunark. quality pelts found on felines in Stonebrunt Mountains)
LQ cat pelts- LP, tailored bag
MQ cat pelts- PV, Sm. studded, tailored whip
HQ cat pelts- PV, Sm. reinforced, tailored quivers
Ruined Lion skin- lions in NK/SK/EK no known use
LQ lion skin- off highland lions in NK, PV

Ruined bear pelt- LG patchwork, (ruined - HQ bear pelts are found on bears all over antonica; everfrost, rathe mts, ec/wc kithicor, misty thicket, NK/WK etc etc)

MQ bear pelt- QH quest, PV, Lg. studded
HQ bear pelt- QH quest, PV, Lg. reinforced, QA quest, handmade backpacks, Kithicor quest
HQ bear skin (ND) off Mammoth, named bear in Surefall Glade, for Bayless list quest for Qeynos/Surefall, I think

Patch of gnoll fur- St, for tailoring (eventually need 64 furs if no failures) a cloak that can be turned in for a rogue dagger in Halas, fishing lure
alligator skin- off bull alligators in Innothule for Rivervale quest
white spider fur- V, Velketors Lab, St, no known uses
Holgresh fur- V, Wakening Lands, for holgresh fur cap/cloak/boots
