Xanthe's Earring/PoTC- The Gifts of the Halflings
The last three gifts come to us from halfling lands. Original
writeup courtesy of Xanthe Ravenwolf. Known trivials are now included,
as well as links to the various sources for ingredients.
First Gift of the Halflings
Lotus Pie
- Lotus Pie (miraculous meal, CHA 9) = Thick Lotus Paste + Clump
of Dough + Pie Tin (oven/spit, baking trivial 236, yield 6
pies)
Other combines/items that you will need
- Thick Lotus Paste (meal, CHA 9) = 1 Sweet Lotus Sap (*or* sticky
lotus sap *or* soft lotus petals *or* black lotus stem) + Allspice
+ Flour + Cream (oven/spit,
baking trivial >101 <=141)
- Cream = Benzoin + 2 Milk
(unstacked) + Dairy Spoon (mixing bowl, baking trivial 83)
- Dairy Spoon = 2 Metal
Bits (unstacked) + Scalar
Mold + water (forge, smithing trivial 67)
- clump of dough = 1 Egg of whatever kind + Milk
+ Flour (mixing bowl, baking trivial 17)
- Pie tin can be either smithed
or made via pottery
(sweet lotus sap, sticky lotus sap, black lotus stem and soft
lotus petals are all dropped by the deep cavern lotuses in Fungus
Grove. Drops off the cave lotus in Dulak will NOT work)
Second Gift of the Halflings
Note that halfings REALLY love their food, and many of the
below recipes yield more than one on a success. Given the difficulty
of the final combine, this is a good thing, as you will likely lose
many to failures, but, for example, don't go overboard when making
marmalade, or you'll find that you have no room for the rest of
the ingredients. Also the picnic is a large item, so keep room in
one of your bigger containers free for it.
Misty Thicket Picnic
- Misty Thicket Picnic (miraculous meal, STR 5, STA 5, WIS 5,
INT 5, size: large) = 1 Picnic Basket + 1 Marmalade Sandwich +
1 Jumjum Spiced Beer + 1 Jumjum Salad + 1 Royal Mints + 1 Mature
Cheese + 2 (unstacked) Jumjum Cake Slices (oven, baking trivial
>250, yield 4 picnics)
